This is why we, at Breakfast Criminals HQ, are excited to share this guest recipe by Lizzie Pereira.

Lizzie is a plant-based chef, educator, yoga teacher, and nourishment provider based in LA. She is passionate about the idea of intentional nourishment and views it as a spiritual practice. She recently published her first e-book, the Art of Nourishment, which promotes mindful practices surrounding food and honoring the body’s bio-individuality. She uses this book as a vessel to empower people to cultivate a stronger relationship with the Earth not only through what they eat but also how they eat.

“I encourage people to beautify this connection, slow down, appreciate what ingredients are in season and local to them while bringing them back into the pure juicy magic of making your own food.”

Sunflower seeds are a great source of vitamin E, magnesium, and selenium. They have a mild, nutty flavor and are also rich in healthy fats and antioxidants. Use Lizzie’s recipe in your next morning smoothie or oatmeal for a fruity and nutritious twist.
